What are CAM Fees?
You’re looking over the contract proposed for the space you’re about to rent. You understand what a Triple Net (NNN) is but you come across a CAM fee. CAM Fees stand for Common Area Maintenance. A CAM is a fee that a tenant pays to the landlord that goes towards building maintenance. These fees are for maintaining and repairing the common areas of a property. These are in addition to a tenants’ rent amount in most commercial leases. Examples of CAM fees include cleaning services, landscaping, snow removal, administrative fees, etc.
